Machine learning for Revenue: How 5 Businesses increased their GMB Revenue with GBizBot

The GBizBot is a custom online active program which marries artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and human intellect to optimize your Google Business page listing for measurable increases in website visits, phone calls, and direction requests. Our whitepaper (which you can receive for free) details five local small businesses in the greater Los Angeles area (Maywood, Thousand Oaks, Canoga Park, Sherman Oaks, and Santa Monica) which installed the GBizBot on their respective Google My Business listings (GMB) over a five-month period from November 2018 to March 2019. Over the course of this study, all five businesses consistently appeared in the top local search results and got significantly more direct searches for their brand.

Local GMB Visibility

Generally speaking, the GBizBot implemented machine learning garnered from historical GMB data (going as far back as August 2017) to continually optimize and update the respective GMB pages. This resulted in higher visibility in all forms of local search. We also measured significant increases in direct searches for these 5 businesses on Google Search and Google Maps. The GBizBot helped these businesses turn customer and visitor engagement data (on their respective GMB pages) into revenue with machine learning.

The 3 major customer actions measured  during the course of this study include:

  • Website Visit: A customer views your website.
  • Phone Call: A customer calls your business.
  • Request directions: A customer requests directions to your business.

Potential or current customers can search for a business on Google via a few different search methods which answers the question of “How did they find my business?” Here is how Google defines the possible types of potential searches:

  • Direct searches: A customer directly searched for your business name or address.
  • Discovery searches: A customer searched for a category, product or service that you offer and your listing appeared.
  • Branded Searches: A customer searched for your brand or a brand related to your business. This category will only appear if your listing has appeared at least once for a branded search.
  • Total Searches: The total number of direct, discovery and branded searches.

Why is a local GMB machine learning so effective?

Half of all searchers who find a business via Google search make a purchase (according to an seo report on local search). These are engaged and active potential customers who are seeking out your business and taking various actions including calling your business, requesting directions or visiting your website. This is very different than a potential lead or a cold call or email. These customers are seeking out your business directly without extra effort from you. Each business in the study supercharged their GMB listing by installing a custom GBizBot which implemented machine learning to boost GMB revenue streams.
